Asian Academy of Wound Technology

Introduction

Increasingly, as new technologies and products enter the field, the treatment of wounds becomes more efficient and succesful. However, without proper usage and application of these technologies these benefits are lost. The two day course is aimed to provide each participant a practical understanding of the correct handling of technologies relevant in surgical and non-surgical wound healing, both in theory and in pratice in surgical conditions.

Each participant will have the opportunity to practice and will be supported by our highly qualified trainers. The course will last two full days and will be held at the Asan Medical Centre, Seoul, South Korea. The course will promote current and emerging technologies. The technologies will be demostrated in regards to its specific optimal mode of use. Variations of the mode of use may exist, and these variants will be detailed. Each device/technology will be demostrated via a videolink just before the real hands-on workshop.

Expert monitors will evaluate the performance of the participants and help him/her to achieve a better understanding of possible technical pitfalls. Interaction with the expert monitors are encouraged. The rest of the program includes additional didactic presentations and clinical case studies.
